| Job Information | Kentucky Blue Grass is excited to be adding a Landscape Horticulturalist manager to our growing team of management! We are looking for someone that is knowledgeable, energetic, and passionate for the landscape industry. We are a lawn maintenance, landscaping and tree service company that specializes in commercial and industrial property care. We service Edmonton and surrounding areas. With over 25 years of experience in serving Edmonton, our team is always looking to grow in both size and knowledge. Job would be seasonal to start with potential for full time, depending on skill set. We are Property Care by People Who Care.
Responsibilities will include: Overall site assessments for lawn and plant health, safety, and aesthetics Identifying plant pests and diseases Applying herbicides, insecticides, fungicides, and fertilizers Extensive identification knowledge of trees, shrubs, perennials, and annuals Pruning of trees, shrubs, and perennials Install annuals in flowerpots and beds Provide customers and team members with advice on appropriate plant selection for each project Create plant care plans to meet each customer’s needs Train gardeners on proper pruning techniques and weed control Ability to operate a variety of landscape equipment Meet with customers and quote proposals Present a professional presence and appearance to clients
Job Requirements: Formal Landscape Horticulturalist education (Olds College Training or Red Seal Certification) Minimum 4 Years Industry Experience Extensive identification knowledge of trees, shrubs, perennials, and annuals Long hours in all weather conditions Good Physical condition and able to lift up to 50lbs Clean driver’s license Computer knowledge (Microsoft Outlook, word, excel) Communicate with employees, customers and management Training Skills Oversee and train a staff of up to 10 workers
Considered an Asset but Not a Requirement: Irrigation system knowledge Greenhouse or Nursery experience Pesticide Applicators License Previous experience in sales |
