As much as we all love trees and the benefits they provide, sometimes tree removal is necessary. Some trees have root rot, decay, or disease, and some have just grown too big for their spot.
Our ISA Certified Arborists can safely remove trees of any size, using the most up to date techniques. We can cut the wood of the trunk to 14-16” pieces and leave it for firewood (except for elm wood). Generally everything up to about 1’ in diameter will be chipped. We can also haul everything away for you if you already have enough chores to do!
Low impact rigging systems can be used to safely lower tree pieces to the ground, preserving gardens, hardscapes, and smaller tree friends under the ones to be removed. We work closely with several companies who can turn your beloved tree into a beautiful piece of furniture. Just ask us for a recommendation!
Elm trees can be removed at any time during the year, as long as they are stump ground or debarked. The wood has to be properly disposed of to make it unattractive to the Elm Bark Beetles that are the vector for Dutch Elm Disease. Elm tree pruning is only permitted between October 1st and March 31st, when the beetles are dormant. It is both a City of Edmonton Bylaw and a provincial Pruning Ban.
